finished commission
hi my dear friends,
I finished this portrait commission last week and the client - their grandmother - was extremely happy with it .... it was also a first time for me to paint dark skin, I had never done that in oils before, only in pastells.
I cannot change anything anymore, but c&c are always welcome!!!

Re: finished commission
Andy, beautiful luminous skin-tones, and I love that plaid shirt! I can see why grandma loved it!

Re: finished commission
Looks like you captured their individual personalities, too. (I hope that makes sense?)
I always have to ask, What size is the painting? What medium; oil, acrylic, both?
That plaid shirt might have driven me crazy!

Re: finished commission
I liked everything but the highlights - way too strong - they make the kids look wet or made of shiny plastic. But that is just an artist opinion - if the Client loved it - that's what counts. The skin tones were warm and lovely and you nailed the plaid shirt and hair.
