Scavenger Hunt #268 May 13 - May 21
If you've participated in at least one Scavenger Hunt and have time to host one we would really appreciate it. You can sign up by posting your name on the current hosting schedule in the Art From Life forum here:
http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/show...366347&page=33
Here are the rules for the hunt:
*All items on the list must be sketched from life - not imagination or photo reference.
*Each object you draw can count for only one item on the list, no matter how many shapes/parts/colors that object contains. This was agreed on by unanimous vote among the participants.
*You may place multiple objects together in a drawing or painting, and may count these objects as separate items, but no single object can count for more than one item.
*All items posted must be numbered. Count them as you go. The first item you post will be #1 regardless of its place on the list. Do them in whatever order you wish, but count them in the order in which you sketch them, from 1 to 26.
Do as many or as few of the items as you like. You don't have to finish the entire list to participate. The Scavenger Hunt "week" will last for 9 days, with the next hunt starting on the 9th day.
Please tell us your size, surface, medium, and the amount of time it took you for each sketch. We love hearing about your subjects and setups. Photos of your subjects are welcome.
*** If you have some hunt sketches completed but little time to read/comment, please post your sketches anyway. Commenting is appreciated but not necessary. ***
The List:

Have fun. The last day of this hunt is my birthday.

Happy Mother's day to every mom here.
Irwin: Thanks for Mother's day's vibe.
I did these in my latest giant Thai local sketchbook, size 18x11 inch. This part took me about 1 hour total.
#1 pastime -- Lily's pastime of eating chocolate powder. Pencils, Pelligan kido's gouache.
#2 end -- pencil & gouache
#3 green -- pencil, gouache, and ink. I also attach the photo of the real thing.

Jeanne, thanks for the list. Hope to do some!
Ai, wouldn't you know you would be first. You get a big time jump on us. Ha. I just love the colors. I like Lily's pastime. Yum.
Danae and Paul, hi there.
Irwin, sounds like a fun day. We are gathering here. Gene is cooking brisket and 3 of our 4 kids will be here. All grown ups but we still have fun. The grand-dogs will be here, too. Maybe the little one will fit "jiggle".

Jeanne - another great list! You are very creative. It will be interesting to see what people choose for the open ended suggestions. I did have to google "Keester" and found the following definition (for others who don't know):
n. 1. the rump; buttocks. 2. a suitcase, trunk, or box.

latedrawer I Google a lot of the words even if I know the meaning. It helps to see if there is another meaning that I can use that is unusual. Just like Keester. I knew the rump but had no idea about the suitcase definition. How cool.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #268 May 13 - May 21
Jo: Thanks. Thai mother day is on Aug 12, the Queen's birthday. So yesterday I was a usual hardworking mom, cleaning, cooking for the girls and the two neighbor girls that come over to play with Iris and Lily. I got to sketch a little, later in the day. I hope you have a great fun outting with your kids.
Carole: Thanks for the definition. This word is so new to me.
EP: Thanks.
J: Thanks. May be my spelling is wrong, the chocolate power is like sweethen cocoa powder. It is dry powder for the hot cereal drink. Lily and Iris like to have it dry though in a bowl.
