Original Collector Concerns When Considering Online Repro Sales??
I sell a small volume of original works per year and am very curious to test market reproductions of my work thru a site such as Zazzle, etc.. I've only had one buyer of one of my originals ever voice pre-purchase concern that someday she'd see that particular piece offered for sale as a reproduction and I agreed verbally not sell any copies of that particular title. I intend to keep to that promise. My question is whether or not there is any sort of unwritten (or unspoken) art world rule against offering a reproduction for sale online for, say, $60.00 of an original which was sold several years back for $1200.00? None of the other buyers of my originals ever brought up the subject of Repros...
