Undercover Artist-xpost Oil Painting

I did this self portrait for practice. I wrapped my scarf around myself and became intrigued with the shadows and tones the scarfs color created.

It's 12"x12" on canvas.

Hope you like it. C&C's are always welcome!

Marlene,

I like it! Nice soft colours. How long would you spend on one this size?
I just ordered a number of small boards from Dick Blick and hope to do some work on them. I've always done large ones in the past.

The green is a good support for all the other warm colours- nicely done!

I like the color exploration here and the rest is well done too!

Jon C- I find that the smaller sizes sometime take just as long, there's the same amount of planning and thinking as in a large piece. Thahank you some much for your comments!

Brian & Carol Kay- Thanks so much I'm so glad you like it!

Bethany & Kevin- I'm so pleased the colors work well with you, thanks so much!!!

Re: Undercover Artist-xpost Oil Painting

Don't be afraid to experiment! That's why I painted myself this way I only have to please me! HA! Try this, the next time you're painting just put down the colors that you "see", not what you "think" it should be. You might surprise yourself!! Thanks so much for your comment!!
