Microsoft paint doodle

Did this in about 20 minutes while watching TV, first time I've ever really used a computer to attempt anything and I have never done anything else besides pencil doodles. Obviously I'm a complete novice artist, but I would like to get into oil painting and would appreciate if anyone can point me in the right direction for where to find affordable quality painting supplies.

Depending on where you live, you could go to Michael's. They have some reasonably priced student supplies. I purchased my initial items for about $100, and then have been working with them and trading up as I run out/can afford to.

Thanks for the kind words. We do have a Michaels up here and I'll be going to buy some supplies here soon.

In the meantime here is another doodle I made this afternoon

Re: Microsoft paint doodle

Interesting composition, lots of bright colours. I love bright colours. You obviously liked doing it and now you want to play with rich coloured oil paints instead of drawing. Instead of looking for a set of cheap oil paints, try your hand at just getting the primary colours (red, yellow, blue, black, and a large tube of white). I started of this way and learnt a lot about colour mixing along the way. You'll love oil paints!
