Chérie

More than 3 years ago, I made photos to paint this stillife. But at that time, I was developing my technique and I didn't dare start painting it.
I did it now.

Oil on Panel, 60 x 90 cm

Re: Chérie

The crumpled paper adds that extra something to the still life. Bravo!

How long did it take you to paint this?

I can exactly tell you how long I worked on this one, because instead of making photos, I took notes during the painting process. I wanted to know it for myself.
Here we go:

- preparing the panel and finishing it: 2 hours. That's an average, because I prepare several panels at the time.

- Design, photographs, PS + prints: 14 h. Also an estimation, because I
took the photographs a few years back.

- Linedrawing on the panel: 2 h

- Wash over the panel: 1 h

- Grey underpainting: 15 h

- 1st color layer: 30 h

- 2nd color layer: 15 h

How much is that?

It was rather fast, because normally it takes longer. Depending on the subject of course.

Thanks everyone!

Re: Chérie

I'd really love to see some process photos of how you work. You posted some great stuff in the other thread regarding how you edit your photos, but I hope I'm not alone in saying that a step-by step, even a rough one, would be welcomed on here.

I'm a huge fan and I only wish that I could paint so well.
