I received a message (convo) on Etsy from someone who self publishes a gardening magazine. It's a different magazine in that it includes short stories and art related to gardening, too. She would like to use two of my images to help illustrate a story written by someone else. Here's a snippet of what she stated:
"I was wondering if you'd be interested in trading the use of your two drawings in my new magazine as illustrations for a story, in exchange for a 1/4 page color ad in the magazine (Summer/Fall 2012)."
I have looked all around and searched in WC, too, but can't quite put my finger on this type of issue. On the one hand, I could look at it as submitting my art to the magazine, but on the other hand, it seems I may need an agreement to the image rights.
Any thoughts on how you read this?
