A x-post from Watercolor Forum

Watercolor on a full sheet of Arches paper!

Tried not to define everything so the imagination can play and it's been interesting to hear what different people see in it.

Thank you for taking the time to look and comment!

Teresa

Thank you, Katie. It's been interesting to hear how people have interpreted this piece...some have seen fairies; some like it upside down looking like maybe a wall with plants trailing down, so I've had fun with this piece.

Re: A x-post from Watercolor Forum

I too love the softness and the area containing the flowers (or at least what I see as flowers). I am not liking as much the rounded shapes from the middle to the top part of painting, unless I view them as pebbles in a stream, then I kind of like them more.

Very nice work.

Teresa, this really is lovely. I love your color palette, that with the shapes and suggestions of real objects make this a very enjoyable painting. From my first view of this it had an aquatic setting for me which may be a result of the blue in the upper areas and that showcases the warms of the yellows like light finding its way down into the water.

Another winner.

I see this as an underwater scene also. I love the contrast of soft pastel shapes next to vibrant indigo and reds - gives the painting flow and a dreamy quality.

Teresa, this is so refreshing. (Small bushes and stones with crystal clear shallow water)

Re: A x-post from Watercolor Forum

Have to admit, I was thinking a crystal stream when I was lifting the rocks you'd see underneath, and the soft forest plants that'd be draping the side of the water's edge. My husband saw a rock wall with draping plants. Funny, when I turned the painting upside down for that, I found it very disorienting as I had my "view" set in my mind, I guess. I've made a couple of tweaks and will post a photo of the final soon. (It's only truly final when it's framed and I can't make adjustments easily.)

Thank you so much for your comments. I appreciate every one of them.

Teresa
