Re: The Plant Parade, a forum Project: May 2012
Beni, welcome to the Florals and Botanical Forum and especially the Plant Parade!!
Okay, new thought!!! What about a stained glass window??? Haven't you seen curves and straight lines on there??? We can use artistic license and have the stem of the Bird of Paradise to be part of the curving vines. You are getting too uptight. . . remember, breathe. . .relax. . .have fun!!
This is not a mid-term, Meryl, this is the fun day in the art room-create!! We are not being graded on it, but we want our Garden on the 25th to be pretty and colorful!!
Remember the mountains we had to travel up to find those mountain flowers. . .some of us took jeeps up there and some helicopters, while some just kept climbing and getting sweaty. . .think outside of the curvy lines and find the BOP!
Blue, get away from that mirror, you have everyone distracted!! Tumbleweed? (Actually, that is called Russian Thistle and I am very allergic to it. . .found that out from an allergist once.) Are you painting yet? I am saving a place in the Garden just for your masterpiece!!
Okay, pep talk #15. . .you can do it, Peeps!!

Re: The Plant Parade, a forum Project: May 2012
Hi everybody,
I am new to this forum. Have been on Wet Canvas since January, but never been to the florals yet. But I feel attracted by this challenge. My favorite medium at the moment are copic markers and I'd like to have a go at art nouveau with them. But I won't be able to begin till the weekend.

Re: The Plant Parade, a forum Project: May 2012
Welcome to Beni and Ulla - none of us shows before the 25th so you're in good time
Eeps - clear the rocks, then you'll see the grasses, all swaying and bending in the breeze - just a short hop and skip to BoP
Remember, the BoP doesn't have to take up the whole space - there are jungle vines to be added too - and luscious leaves .... and things

ooooh Blue,
you have no idea what that mirror would do (tumbleweed or not) .... no spikes there me thinks, lots of curves but such a bottom heavy image you might never see! Probably one of the few times a crowd would shout, "Put it on! Put it on!"

Re: The Plant Parade, a forum Project: May 2012
Yes Katherine, I DO remember "Mountain Flowers" and if I remember correctly, I gave out the waterbottles to others who were climbing mountains!
I'm still looking at mine (with some of it scrubbed off under the tap,) and wondering what to do with it. I tried the stem of the bird as vines and that's why it looked so Alien, so that's what I scrubbed off. I hate not being able to finish a painting, but this one has nearly defeated me. I think I'll just shut my eyes and go for it and see what happens.

Viv - try isolating the BoP from the rest - that'll work

Great plan, Viv!! You will make a beautiful painting!!
Ulla, welcome to the Florals and Botanical Forum!! We are so glad that you want to paint with us this month, too!! We always look forward to the 25th to see what everyone has created!! Have fun!!
Blue, I have given you a section of the Garden and Raymo the other side, so don't let us down, please!!
EP, think you wrapped your head too much around the BOP! Relax and try again!!
I think that women would have an easier time reading each others mind than men, Meryl!! Great minds, maybe???
Happy painting, Peeps!!
