Cafe Michaelangelo - May 2012

May is off to a slow start here in Classical current projects but then it's been that way for a while now.

Me, I'm still finding it hard to find time for art....... been spending the time getting the garden in.

I just took some time to look thru my current sketch book. It is a good reminder of how much I enjoy creating art. ( I just tried to scan one for ya but the scanner has been on the fritz and is not behaving today). maybe tommorrow

Hi Robin. I have been a bit lazy about making art recently. I think I am thru the slump now.

We have some interesting artists to explore this month. I find that looking at famous artworks usually inspires me to get cracking and pick up the brush...doesn't always result in a painting though.

Re: Cafe Michaelangelo - May 2012

yes, I too am encouraged to create when I look at famous and not- so- famous art .
Daughter has a spring orchestra concert. I took along ye ole sketch book and got a couple fun sketches.

Also did this crazy piece on a picnic last week. I just couldn't get in touch with anything and this really shows how I felt. The title came out - Lost in the Woods. And the tree in the center is just ........it was a sort of premonition cause later that evening my teenager let loose a tyrade that left us feeling somewhat lost.....

Love the cartoon style of the figures, Robin. Excellent line work too... sophisticated.

Its fun to write or draw how you are feeling. Then when you are finished to look at the poem or sketch and realise it captured or shows some 'truth'...even a premonition!

The sketches are loose and expressive. Your Lost in the Woods seems to capture your whole day. You are inspiring me to get going in my sketch book.

Hey all, it has been a busy time with school work for me. I need to make time to do some sketching for me.

Like your sketches Robin. The Lost in Woods piece is full of lots of images and ideas. Great work.

Re: Cafe Michaelangelo - May 2012

I am noticing a couple of new avatars.

June - the "kitty" looks like he;s leaning back and has a glass of ice tea there on the side table!

June - the girl in her undergarments.....getting ready for a summer evening stroll in the park in Paris perhaps?

I should change my avatar too

going to finish up the planting in garden today. Snow peas are coming in.

then it's time for some art. I'm two days into going to sketch everyday. ...even if it's just a tiny bit. I feel the energy surging back into my artistic self already . I hope I can keep it up for 21 days....by then it will be somewhat of a habit. This is yesterday's and todays work. pen and fountain ink
