Re: Carousel- WIP
Well here is the final posting for my carousel horses. I changed the background a bit- the little "lights" were a bit distracting for me and I thought it took away from the horses as people would look at them and think What the heck is that???. I redid it to show motion by just the pencil strokes in a horizontal direction, going from light color down to dark. I felt this really put the emphasis back on the horses Now to come up with a title.... my daughter suggested: Say Aahhh .... what do you think

Re: Carousel- WIP
Absolutely stunning! Well done. I think I preferred the background with the little lights as it gave a suggestion of movement, but that's just preference. The horses are absolutely stunning and as you said, you don't want to distract from them.

Re: Carousel- WIP
This has turned out beautifully! No offense, but i too preferred the blurred lights, seemed to give it more movement!

Re: Carousel- WIP
Salemskye, Marie, Lexy, Ali, Lynette, Agnes and all others, thank you so much for your comments! I think it was because of all the support here in the forum that I was able to really achieve this level. I am now searching for that next project, through my photo collection.... hopefully it will turn out as well and be exciting for you all to watch

Re: Carousel- Finished!
It's amazingly lovely. It looks the the horses are airbrushed with gloss over the airbrushing which is hard to convey. You did an outstanding job. I like th harder light because that is what the light looks like on the high gloss finish of carousel horses. Just my opinion though!

The high gloss is captured perfectly. I'll be using your piece as a guide whenever I get around to doing a carousel horse.

Re: Carousel- Finished!-Found my answers in the thread. Thanks!
(Unless you kept track of and want to share ALL the colors you uses! :-)
OK, this is the shiniest colored pencil art I have ever seen, and oh, so smooth. You have probably said in the thread what pencils you are using, so I will re-read it all again, but have you discussed how you are burnishing your colors to get them that deep and rich, how you layer, etc. Please teach me!
