Hi Laura,
I hope you don't mind, but I made a few modifications to your painting with photoshop that I think will help. If you don't want this type of advice, have one of the moderators remove my reply and I won't do it again...
When I put your painting in to gray scale (below) you can see that most of your colors are the same value. Having a greater value difference in the flowers and the background would make the flowers pop.
Also, most of the colors are the same chroma. I grayed and darkened some of the foreground colors and grayed and lightened some of the BG colors.
