I searched and searched and couldn't find a Jabber thread for this month so added one. If I missed another one, I'm sorry!!!

I've been a bit scarce in the sketching the last week or so because we were moved to a new office space that is really open and bright. I hate it. . . folks (esp. management) stare at me when I draw on break/lunch whereas in my old cubicle I had the privacy to do so without drawing attention, but now I don't. I may have to give up the lunch break sketching . . .

Rainy, I don't think anyone started the Jabber thread this month. Thanks for doing so. So sorry you lost your cubicle. It always amazes me how people think anyone can work in such an environment. It's not that I was ever doing something I shouldn't, but that I couldn't concentrate when I was out in the open. Anyway, do you have a car at work that you can slip out to at lunch to sketch and have a private moment? Or is there a nearby library, coffee shop or park you could go to?

Debby. . . glad I am not the only one who can readily see that this new trend to open work space is icky. I actually could go to my car on lunch break since I have 30 mins. I may give it a try next week. It is about a five min walk from my building out to the parking area, so it would not work for breaks (15 mins).

Hi Debby and Rainy. I agree open plan offices are just not a good idea. Apart from the prying eyes everywhere, constant distractions from people moving around, there is heaps more noise to content with. I used to hate it too. It would be a real shame if you had to give up your daily sketches. Hope you find a solution.
