Afternoon at the savannah

As usual, while painting one thing I need to take a break every once in a while and this often results in new painting So, to take a break from my ural owl (wip thread posted somewhere below), I grabbed paints and brushes and painted this fellow.

It was fun to paint. I prime wood myself and this time I didn't use sand paper, leaving some of texture made by gesso. I think I like it better than canvas
