Re: Clematis - WIP
Don't know how I missed this earlier! Sorry!
I like the powerful colour of the flowers but I really like the delicate green leaves and stems - beautiful
I haven't yet seen Stonehenge paper here - what kind of surface is it? Smooth, slightly textured - wouldn't imagine rough!

Thanks M.
M, the paper does not have a lot of tooth but it is not slick by any means.

Re: Clematis - WIP
They're beautiful, love the colors and especially love clematis, can't wait to see the finished painting.
Do the colors get smudged on your hands while working with them?

Re: Clematis - WIP
Thanks purple. The colours don't smudge as I used a sheet of clear acetate between my hand and the drawing.

Carol, I'm very happy to know about the acetate, will use that myself when I want to keep hands clean, thanks so much.

I am not so much interested about keeping my hands cleans as keeping the paper background clean.

Re: Clematis - WIP
Coming along nicely, I like the colors of the flowers and the look of the greenery so far is great. really looking forward to seeing how this one turns out.
Considering trying FC pencils just to see how they feel compared to prismas.

Re: Clematis - WIP
Carol, thanks for sharing. This is stunning. I'm getting used to working with Polychromos on Stonehenge and your color blends are gorgeous. How are you blending? Solvents or just layering/burnishing?

Re: Clematis - WIP
Smudged - thanks
Miss Elaine - thanks too
Blue - ah fancy seeing you here. Thanks for both lovely comments.
Idhwhimsy - Polys and Stonehenge are my favourite way to work. I only layer. I never use solvents or burnish. Usually, I use a trusty-dusty bristle brush for blending but this time I have restrained myself and have not used it at all.
