I enjoy creating pencil work but use it more as a means to work out ideas for acrylic paintings.
I am, however, inspired by those who have truly mastered the art of pencil and colour pencil work .
This is a current sketch made as a lead in to a full painting of this beautiful aircraft.
There are a lot of technical and artistic errors in the drawing but it has served it's purpose and convinced me that this will be a sound basis for a painting.

Nice. I like the long diagonal strokes suggesting that it's going fast. I'm useless at colour work so this will be nice to see in colour too.

Good luck with the painting, Neil If you like you may post the painting in this thread when you're finished. Would be great to see.

Re: Hunter GA9

Thanks Tony ,
The painting may be a month or two away - preparations for the invasion of the grandchildren have swept all other priorities aside!
Had a quick browse at your work - good stuff. I see you are self taught - a bit like myself - no formal training - gleaned what I could from books and the occasional encounter with professional artists over the years.
