Re: May CHALLENGE

I haven't been around much lately to post or comment. Life has been pretty busy, and work, well it turned into WORK!

Thanks for hosting the challenge, I hope to make some time to participate.
The Rocky Landscape reference appears to be a scene from Bryce Canyon National Park. I was there a couple of weeks ago after attending a two-day workshop with Roland Lee in St. George. He is a wonderful artist and a great teacher. I had a good time and learned a great deal.

Glade

P.S. the monthly sketch picture references don't show up for me, any thoughts on why?

Hi Glade. Great to see you back! I'm sorry you're not seeing the images over in the Quick Draw sketch thread. I haven't heard any complaints of others having this problem, so perhaps if you try to view them again they'll load alright for you? I hope the problem works itself out so you can see the great images and, hopefully, take part in our sketch thread.

Re: May CHALLENGE

Thanks for the identification, Glade, as my friend did not write on the back of the photo of course. (She passed away in 2004). I've completed the cowskull and may try the red sunflowers.

Re: May CHALLENGE

Here you go Kay - let's get the OUvTexas rivalry going! This one is titled "Beauty Mark" and is 11x14 oil. Great timing, my wife and I both received our 2012 OU-Texas Red River Rivalry ticket applications today, so we'll attend the game in Dallas again this Fall.

Re: May CHALLENGE

Great idea, Larry - and I really like the way you put it together. Comp, color, brushwork all really work well.
