Re: Oliver WIP (cat) (X-P from Animal and Wildlife)
your cat has beautiful eyes. have you thought about coloring? i know that sounds a bit intimidating, im new too but i just fell in love with inktense color pencils. i still have to get use to them. as for starting off and making sure its in proportion you could start off with a sketch on a regular piece of paper and when everything loos good and accurate you can place a transfer paper. i cant remember a good type to use. i just use chalk but i learned about it by doing a research paper on scratchboard and used Judith white's article as a reference

Re: Oliver WIP (cat) (X-P from Animal and Wildlife)
Thank you so much, Lola!
Thank you, Ma Jiesi! I would really love to try coloring this (perhaps...), but I'm very new to it, so I'll have to give it some real thought before going ahead. I've heard of Inktense CPs. It would be fun to try them out. Thanks for the comments.

Re: Oliver WIP (cat) (X-P from Animal and Wildlife)
I think this is finished. I decided to add color for the eyes and the nose. I used Faber-Castell Artist Pitt Pens. That was scary! I thought I ruined it for awhile, as the colors were very dark and really deadened the eyes. In a near panic, I took up my knife and started working at the eyes and nose again. Fortunately, the color lifted some. I am fairly happy with it now.
Thank you for the comments, for looking, and for following along. C&C always welcome.

Re: Oliver FINISHED (cat) (X-P from Animal and Wildlife)
That's a Nice Job The addition of color really adds more life to it.
I do have to say....you are one of the FEW here who like to do whiskers!
From now on...when I need whiskers added....I'll just ship my work to you and you can add them in
Keep Scratchin'!!

Re: Oliver FINISHED (cat) (X-P from Animal and Wildlife)
Thank you so much, Allan! I appreciate the kind words. What can I say? The whiskers were a little nerve-wracking, but I loved the process. After all, whiskers aren't perfect on animals, so if they get a little imperfect in the drawing, it isn't a terrible thing.
Thank you so much, Harry. I'm glad you like the colors.
Thanks so very much, Diane! I really appreciate it. (We miss you over in SW/W Art... )
Thanks, Lynn!

Lovely! It's a very understated piece and that works perfectly here.
