Re: Arab horse WIP

Sarah ,you are doing a good work on the horses and you already have Katie and Ken`s advices , the best advices on horses.

My humble one would be: take quick looks at your drawing and the photo;you will see how dark is the horse in comparison with your drawing.......nothing is that white in nature...there is always different grades of gray and this photo definitely has them.

Good luck and happy drawing, Sarah!!!

Saludos

Luicre

Re: Arab horse WIP

Thank you Peggy

OK so I've done more on this. I feel like I'm done on it, but what do you guys think? I have to send it off this week so if there is anything you think you can CC me on, please be honest and say.
The changes I've made are subtle, but I've darkened areas, adjusted mane, completed the leadrope.
I've taken a photo of it in:
1: artifical light indoors
2: outside in natural light
3. outside from an angle

Of course, it's not signed yet too.

Would like to hear your thoughts! Thank you

Re: Arab horse WIP

The indoor lit one gives a nice sepia tone to it. Funny thing, this digital photography . He still hasn't kicked me . Sarah, perhaps you could look at his jaw line. It seems to me it could use a smidgen of shadow there to round it off a bit. But perhaps the horse experts should check it out first.

Re: Arab horse WIP

Just caught up with this one - I think you are pretty well there . Perhaps the top of the shadow on the body could go a touch darker and the horse's right cheek is not quite so light in the ref photo - in that you can barely discern the bottom edge of the cheek. Having said that - these are minor matters of personal prefernece and I think it is a fine horse study as it stands.

Re: Arab horse WIP

Love the horse art! I like this one ALOT! I might have gone a bit darker with the background & blended it more, but this is a great drawing! Nice work!

Re: Arab horse WIP

I too think you could have went darker in places, but you know what ..... thats art for you

I think you brought this piece of art a long way from your first post to this last one. You improved it immensely and turned it into something to be really proud of
I really like the headcollar, lead rope and especially the muzzle. These are my very favorite parts of this drawing Overall I think this is a well executed drawing and it should do extremely well
Sign it and be proud
