Re: Sketchbook - Newton de Castro

Hello there

This is a speed painting I did today.. around 1h.. I made it for fun and of course because I love Hulk!!
It was nice for me so I could study colors and shade.. in the end I enjoyed the final result.. so that's it.

Cya.

Re: Sketchbook - Newton de Castro

Excellent works, Newton!!!

What medium have you used for the last ones?. Oh I have just seen that you have worked in Photoshop, I am not sure and the Mods would have to solve this out but digital works are not allowed at D&S.... But I think you have done a remarcable work with Gladiator....

Saludos

Re: Sketchbook - Newton de Castro

Sorry if I put my work in the wrong place.. but if this is my sketchbook I think I can post anything related to sketch, no matter the media is.. If I'm wrong I ask the mods to give me some advice so I can make no more mistakes..

Thank you michaeleric and luicre.. your words are very kind.

Re: Sketchbook - Newton de Castro

Newton, the general rule is that you may post work done in other media if you post a drawing first. This mean digital Maximus is alright since you did a sketch of him first but Hulk does not quite fit the criteria. There is a digital forum so sketching here is for any medium is pencil/pen form or chalk and charcoal sticks. The reason is that people have a certain interest in only some art media and by channeling our art into different forums we help people find the medium in which they are interested. I hope this helps clarify things.

Hi. Youve definitely got talent. The only thing Id note as far as constructive criticism goes, is the mermaid's scales. They look a little hurried, and seems like you squeezed a lot of them in that area (maybe thats what you were going for?) Other than that, lovely job. Im working on a drawings based portfolio too. Might use ink and colored pencil as well as graphite. Are you tying the entire portfolio together in another way apart from using pencil for each? What is your approach? Just curious.

Thanks for sharing your work.

Re: Sketchbook - Newton de Castro

Thank you Wendy.. In my portfolio I intend to have only drawings made with pen and pencils.. most of them are in pen.. I love to draw with ballpoint pens.. I have no idea what my approach is my friend.. Maybe someday I can be a real artist here in my country maybe around the world.. where God takes me... that's why I'm trying my best.. I know I must work hard and I'll do it. If there's something I can help you just let me know, ok?? Thanks for visiting!!! and tell me, what's your approach? =]

You are a real artist! I'd love to see your pen drawings if you've got them posted somewhere.

Im going to use pencil, pen, and maybe watercolor and CP. I guess Im tying it together by subject/form/theme. And, that I havent chosen yet. Gotta work that out. Your approach is less chaotic, i just have a thing with grouping things together in the most useful categories. Im sucha nerd sometimes.
