Carlos that is a wonderful bowl. I love the color of it.. That is an interesting design on the outside of it..
sam that is an amazing focal.. the more I look the more I see! so Beautiful!
Ellen.. those chards are Pretty! What color are they? are they a silver type of glass? Has that amazing look to them that only happens in the flame..I love that it looks sculptural in look and feel.

Re: May showcase
Thanks Ellen - Possibly too much
Here is a tell to go with this show.
The frit in the core bead is what I call trash frit- It was a bunch of frit I just dumped together after a class that was using frit. Which could have turned out bad but this is kind of pretty.
The a layer of red florals- encased
Then just because another layer of flowers and vines on the outside.
Oh and then the centers of all the flowers have stamen cane.
Yeah sometimes you just keep going even though you know you should have stopped a layer before.

Re: May showcase
Diane - the shards are "Janet's Motley" from Avenuebeads.com Not silver glass; I've never worked with that type of glass.
Sam - too much? Not at all.

Re: May showcase
Beautiful work!
Ellen, I've got to tell you, when you actually see Sam's work in person, it's layers upon layers. She's not kidding when she talks about building it up. I've been amazed each time I've been fortunate enough to watch her work @ the torch! Amazing!
Sam, so glad the pic is a great "view" size. This is almost as good as holding it in my hot clammy hand.
Ellen, beautiful work with the Shards! I love them too....it's great after you first use them and burn them to smitherines.
Happy creating,
ginger
Hope I can make some beads soon.........I miss it! Dang sick kitty!

Re: May showcase
Ellen, Love your disks and agreed, that bead with the shard is beautiful. Great colors! Joe, think I got that right, makes amazing shards.
Carlos, So you were just showing a newbie some simple color applications! That design doesn't look simple to me. Is he hooked after watching you work?
Sam, I love all of your layers and your final bead is gorgeous. I look forward to seeing florals from you all month long.
I'll keep showing shells, but need to move to firefox first.

Re: May showcase
Two inch shells are not my favorite to make. They get to heavy with all the layers I use with silver glass. The length also challenges me with heat control, especially encasing the last layer. Here are three, somewhat of a special order. Smallest is just a smidgen under two inches.
Really need to get back to improving my photos. I've become lazy.

Re: May showcase
OHHHH maggie.. yummy... such pretty shells.. you have a way with them!
I made a bracelet today.. I've been working on my jewelry making skills.. So thought I'd share with you all today.. Hope you like it..
I need to go and check out what people use for chains in the making of their jewelry.. I want to find something that does not tarnish or turn color.. somehow I think that is in possible.. the large focal bead and the bumpy bead I created in this bracelet..

Re: May showcase
Diane - like it? Are you kidding? If I was going to the prom I would soooo wear it. If they had a prom for senior citizens, that is.
No kidding. It's lovely. Keep it up.

Re: May showcase
Great bracelet Diane! I personally don't make jewelry but I have friends who have been using copper and brass for bracelets and the look is unique as well as can really make the beads pop. Hope that helps a little. I know you can get the componets for a lot less than silver.
Best,
ginger

Re: May showcase
Look at all the eye candy! I love it all! Such great inspiration, you guys.
I have a custom order for a charm bracelet so here is the first batch of cakes to come out of the oven. Going to choose my faves and make a few more. ^_^
sorry the grass is more in focus, this was a quick pic from my cell phone.
