Re: old town

Lovely Katie. The colours are gorgeous. I love the complexity of all the variations in colour and tone.

Re: old town

Excellent! That is a great technique you are using, however you are getting the whites. It looks like it is additive. Love how it unifies but still lets the variety of beautiful colours come through. A beautiful "pickled" sea side town.

Re: old town

Eraethil...thanks it took forever this painting, I tried something different, once I had the basics painted in, I then applied paint to a piece of plastic card and then pressed it onto the canvas to give this old kinda distressed look.
Brian...thank you. I looked on your website, and I am confused, where are all those wonderfull seascape paintings that I used to comment on....

Re: old town

Katie, very nice combination of colors to set the scene for an urban antique painting. It does have that old town look from a time when there were no city planners spacing everything out like boxes stuffed in pigeon holes.

Re: old town

Nice sense of unity throughout entire painting, with a rythm created by all the verticals.

Re: old town

This is really nice. Warm and cool colors just bounce off of each other beautifully.

Like the various colours and how they touch or cover each other
