Re: Jake Mo -- Thoroughbred Colt

this is looking good but one suggestion I would make is that since this is a scene full of movement the hair on the forehead should not look so still, like he is just standing there. There should be at least a few hairs flying around.

Since the horse is the main attraction, I would concentrate on him by really bringing out his highlights. I would decide which side is in shadow then really bring out the brightness on the opposite side. His eye needs depth. I might tend to keep the jockeys silks the way they are.

I agree, I like the soft edges on the jockey. You horse is looking so good. Can't wait to see how this progresses.

I agree about the hair movement. Doing a beautiful job with the horse. I'll check in later, keeping an eye on this one.

Re: Jake Mo -- Thoroughbred Colt

I think I saw this in Pastels where you included the photo? The white "stuff" in the photo is as much foam as teeth; their teeth usually meet, more or less, top to bottom, and they are very compact rather than sort of spaced and jutting out. I think you'll like the appearance better if you can decrease the whiteness (for the foam doesn't need to be included). The rest looks smashing--what an alert colt!
