GOLDENER KÄFIG [GoldenCage]

OIL ON CANVAS 70x80cm
LXV - Mai 2012

Here i post that paiting again - RIGHT exposure and for 'gallery'
[see & ]

Quote:
This is now again "Expressiver Realismus/expressive realism"

Painted with "Lukas BERLIN" & "W&N Artisan" - also with my mediums CREAMY, CREAMY+

I like that you can not recognize right away what it is exactly and everyone sees something different in it...
A friend saw this as the entrance of a church & i see it as a Villa-entrance in the night, what it actually is.

and both are for me a golden cage
-> LOOK ABOVE FOR "MORE" INFO about PleinAir ... ;-)

THIS IS NOT PLEIN-AIR - from Landscape-Contest-Photo
FOR YOUR INFO

Seitenstrasse Allee Frühling 2 Sommer [Spring 2 Summer Avenue street]

OIL ON CANVAS 40x30cm
LXIV - Juni 2012

Quote:
This is now again "Expressiver Realismus/expressive realism"

Painted with "W&N Artisan" - also with my mediums CREAMY+ & CREAMYwax

From near it's more of a 'carpet/patchy stain', still farther away you can see it better - or you squint your eyes (then the contrast is more & better)

PS.: the other one i would/will paint in Juli ...
THIS ONE:

THIS IS NOW PLEIN-AIR
FOR YOUR INFO: but i saw an image from that place - i am often in my "lovely-place-city" TRIESTE (Italy) and walk exactly to the right place ... -> took 2,5 to 3 hours to paint

MIRAMARE e Laterne - TRIESTE [MIRAMARE e LanternLamp - TRIESTE]

OIL ON CANVAS 30x40cm

Painted with "W&N Artisan" & little "Lukas BERLIN" - also with CobraPaste, Artisan Impasto and with my mediums CREAMY, CREAMYcobra, CREAMY+ & CREAMYwax

This is again a "premiere" , I put this picture here first - it also comes later on my homepage (which I update usually only every 3-4 months)

noge - THXS for your statement!
When i look like you, then you are right ... BUT i look different & shows on others ... - and by me there is another thing, that is 'interest' ...

"In the distance it is going from nearly-formless to the mode of formalization"
"It does not resemble the photo much... - 'Expressive Realism' style is/means loose and free - more of an interpretation than a realistic effect"
I hope THAT helps !!!?!!! ;-)

THANKS FLANAGAN - i'm keep on going ... !!! ;-)

Re: Expressiver Realismus PleinAir - BILDER/PICTURES

Yes and no!
No->Expressive Realism was before 1920 'modern' and mostly from (North)German ...
Yes->first i 'learn' that style & i would make an 'own' one, so it's new (not sooo depressiv like that one before first worldwar - mine 'fresher' and with 'life' and friendly colours ...) ... - but it takes time ... ;-)

Good example for that style & art what i like is from Andre KRIGAR (www.krigar.com) - there is also a video from pleinair-painting [or the link at the bottom-left from my signature "ExplanationVideo..."]
--> look there at his pictures ... ;-)

Re: Expressiver Realismus PleinAir - BILDER/PICTURES

I like your work a lot. Sometimes I feel that there is some things which are not noticed or paid attention to. For example, in the first painting the top, that red chair really wants to be a true red. It would be great, but the color gets mixed and turns too dark. Sometimes I feel that you are not cleaning your brushes enough...maybe you are getting too excited and painting too spontaneously. I would like to see your paintings become a little bit more refined. Of course, if you did this, you would loose some of the magic! For example, the painting of the white street lamp in the garden is really, really nice. Maybe if you had been more careful it wouldn't have been as good.

Re: Expressiver Realismus PleinAir - BILDER/PICTURES

Also, I don't think there's a problem with using a lot of white. Normally, I would say that its a bad idea. But you do it in a way that works well.

I think that your "expressive realism" is important in today's plein air world. Actually, ANY style or direction is important.

If a painter's work doesn't have something that sets them apart from others, maybe, just because of this, it's not good enough.

But we can not all be "expressive realists". It's up to us to figure out just what we are, in fact, doing.
