Maned Wolf x-posted A&W

9x12 mostly prisma. Background is fixed pastel with pencil over.
This is an endangered species that lives on the grasslands and edges of forests in Argentina and Brazil and neighboring countries. He stands 3 feet tall and weighs about 50 pounds. Looks kind of like a fox on stilts. His red-gold coat blends in with the tall grasses where he spends most of his time. That's why I painted him with the dark green background. He kind of faded away with a yellow grass background.
C & C always welcome.

That's beautiful, striking pose and you can feel his keen attention- just as you would expect from a wolf. TWO THUMBS UP!!!

Sorry, half a paw off, as there's something in the proportions of the head that's not 100 % right. Perhaps the muzzle is just a tiny bit too long.

This adorable and rare creature should be drawn with Brazilian Faber-Castells - F-C proudly mentions that Chrysocyon brachyurus seems to like their cultivated forest!

I just love all the colours in his fur -he looks like royalty, almost aloof(sp*) in his demeanour. Very nice!

This has a lovely painted quality to it. What unique and beautiful animals!
