Here's a link to a post where William Moore mentions purchasing them off Amazon, he includes a photo and price. www.wetcanvas.com/forums/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=14217981

Re: Which pochade box do you think is the best?
Best quick answer: The one you are about to get and/or are newly using... Likely, you'll be happy for awhile... How long, who knows? This past six months(!) has has been a half-year of many boxes. I unloaded my SolTek and a Sienna box, purchased an EasyL "Pro" and the small "Prochade", all good and decent ones. In keeping with my "Keep it Lite" goal, I have a 9x12 OBM pending, use a RayMar 10x12" carrier and will probably get a new backpack too. I estimate this set-up will only run about 10-12 lbs without the light 4 lb EZL tripod, carried in hand. I hope this nominal 15+lbs total load factor will better this ol' guy's access and stamina in the field.
The Plein Air path seems a continous one, it is difficult to nail-down what works best, particularly, when one's tastes, goals and needs change too! Yep, wish I knew what I know now .. 5 years ago!

Re: Which pochade box do you think is the best?

I've been using two OpenM Boxes for about four years now and I still like them.

A pitty you can't buy them anymore as there is a 'hold' for the Boxes, otherwice I would have buy a spare one.

Re: Which pochade box do you think is the best? .. OpenM!

Per some past remarks, I did unload numerous easel/boxes this '12yr, my ol' SolTek, a Sienna, two EZLs', a GP "cigar box" and misc stuff.. The used Plein Air market via CraigsList seems a decent one, I garnered over $700 cash for all the above, plus odds & ends. I did get a 10x12" Open Box M "palette/panel holder", these being still readily available. Their ol' wood cover boxes are no longer available (Pelicans sold instead), wouldn't want either of those anyway as my lightweight pochade fits readily in the laptop pocket of my new $18- Costco backpack! While the OpenBoxM design has been around since the late '80s', there's ALOT to be said for a product that works TOTALLY!! BTW, there's some very simple logic here .. OpenMBoxes only hold paint and little else.. Your brushes and other gear go in your backpack, hence, a VERY light tripod is all one needs!.. Total weight is minimal and my box only weighs 1.75lbs raw. I was able to get a decent deal on a package including their brush, drink & towel holders along with some hooks. A very high quality U.S. product worth every $.01 paid, I continue to enjoy this new set-up, not looking for anything else (for once) and my ol' back thanks me every outing! PS - I appreciated the + comments of several WC OpenMBox users who convinced me....

Re: Which pochade box do you think is the best?

Anyone use the mabef pochade with wooden tripod? I've always been interested, but not sure about the durability of the wooden tripod. Can box be attached to a metal tripod? Any suggestions, comments will be appreciated.

Don’t have the pochade box but I’ve been using the Mabef wooden tripod for two years with my own pochade. It’s excellent, I was out in the snow with it today, on windy days I use line and tent pegs to hold it down.
