I'm really diggin Gregory Stocks right now;
http://www.gregorystocks.com/
I just discovered his work on a gallery stroll last week, he paints big, so the small images on his web site don't even begin to do his work justice.
Another one I'm liking lately is David Jackson;

He is another one I stumbled onto on an unplanned visit to a gallery back in July.
Two more local artists I like;
Doug Braithwaite
http://www.dougbraithwaite.com
Erin Berrett
http://www.ewbpaintings.com/
Of those that aren't local I really like Richard Schmid, Quang Ho, Scott Burdick, Matt Smith, John Poon and many more.
My favorite acrylic artist is John Hammond.
There are of course many, many more I could name that I admire....all living. Frankly, it's pretty unusual for me look to the dead artists for inspiration. While I can admire their excellence, they are not of my time so I have a hard time relating, and with so many living masters to enjoy I don't feel the need to try too hard.
