What brand/type of ink?

Hi,

I'm new to this group, and I have a question. When working with the white clay board as a base, and the finished piece will be black and white, what ink do you use for the black areas?

Thanks.

Becky

Re: What brand/type of ink?

Hi Becky and welcome!

Everyone seems to use something different. I use the Koh-i-Noor UltraDraw (#3085). It's also what I use in my tech pens, so it keeps the ink quality and color consistent whether I'm brushing in large areas or using the pens.

Re: What brand/type of ink?

Becky I know some people use Higgins. I myself use Ampersand's clayboard inks.
I'm in my second bottle of black and I've been scratching since the end of 2008 so those small bottles go a long ways

I've been using Sumi brand on my whiteboard work. It paints nice, reduces nice, airbrush friendly, AND the way it scratches! ( plus it's comes in a handy bottle.)

Re: What brand/type of ink?

Thanks for the input. The Ampersand ink I already have, I'll get ahold of some of the other two kinds and give them a try.
