Electric Eagle

This was a very lucky capture for me. We were driving along the Electric Brae in Ayrshire yesterday and spotted a big bird in the road feeding on roadkill. As we approached it took off, and luckily I had my camera in my lap. I just rattled off photos and one out of many turned out a cracker.

Re: Electric Eagle

Moments like that are so exciting.
I am glad you got lucky and captured this grand bird in flight.

Wow, that is a beautiful lucky shot! I love the mortality of the whole story -- feeding on roadkill, the dusky lighting, the missing flight feathers in his wings...very nice! Love birds in flight!

Re: Electric Eagle

Thanks for the nice comments guys. I was very lucky to get this shot, we all shouted in the car when we saw him and I panicked trying to get my camera out in time, focused and on tracking.

What a nice shot and experience. Waiting for my first close encounter with an eagle.
