Re: The Plant Parade, a forum Project: May 2012
Eeeeekkkk....Art Nouveau!!! Oh Katherine, what a Challenge, I may have to get my very old brain to work for this one....I can feel it grinding into gear now. But I will try and come up with something....might have to do a bit of research on this one first. Thank you Katherine for this interesting Challenge.

Re: The Plant Parade, a forum Project: May 2012
Cindy, you are going to love the adventure of this challenge!!
Meryl, I have total confidence in you, Girlfriend!! Let the curves begin!!! Linetta, this is like exercise for the body. . .except we are using it for the brushes!!
EP, glad you are in and thanks for bringing Kat with you!! Kat, welcome!!
Angie, this will be a piece of cake-okay, major birthday cake. . .
Maureen, this should be a great adventure!!
Blue, you are invited to play with the ‘curves’, too! Where is Raymo now???
Jean, can hardly wait to see what you create!!
Viv, just the lady I was looking for!! I am ready to be awed. . .don’t let me down!!
Chrystal, I had to study to understand the ‘feel’ of the Period, but it is easy to grasp! I have started seeing Art Nouveau on things such as the Kleenex boxes now.
Elaine, I knew that you would get inspired with the curves. . .okay, not like Blue and Raymo, but artistically!
Peeps, do look over the materials that I have provided because it is the capsule version of the Period! Look at the posters that Mucha painted and get the ‘feel’ for the artwork. THEN, think Rain Forest and feel the bright, hot colors searing into the design! WOW, this is going to be fun!!

Marian, for a brief explanation, check out www.sfdav.com.au under Folk Art Styles (a bit of a misnomer). Both styles are there with a couple of examples of the art forms. Gail

Oh wow!! I LOVE Mucha's work and I love flowers. What a challenge. I just clicked on to this thread to see what you get up to here and it looks like fun. Count me in too - as a newcomer to this forum.

Peeps, I honestly meant 'off to doodle' .......... letting your pencil doodle lots of curvy lines and shapes should help yu loosen up and get into the swing
Marion - Speedy couldn't catch you! Crikey girl - one already done?
I always think of art deco as Clarice Cliff and lots of 30s buildings in that style - straight lines awith some curves - see here - not one of my favourite styles at all
Art Nouveau images
Hi Ros

Re: The Plant Parade, a forum Project: May 2012
Hang on a minute, did you just say Marion got one done already??
Heres a trick for curves,if the side of the coin fits on it then it is perfect circle!Me uses all kinds of curvy things, including pans,saucers,bottles,string..yes string, like hold it on the middle of the imaginary sphere and the pen/pencil on the other end and make circle..easy way is buy those ruler measuring thingy, like tailor ruler,,they are the best,me thinks!
ANyway if theres any tricks out there to make it perfect, pls share!
