Michael, I didn't see your comment earlier. LOL. Your sketchbooks could stand up to some abuse!
I wanted to get this last one in. Can't believe the month is over with already. Maria, I had so much fun this week. It spurred me to rent a couple of movies and go on youtube to be inspired.
This one is from the sci fi Korean movie called Sector 7. Oil rigs digging outside Korea and the crew meets beast that they created from oil spills/oil drilling.
This was done on a page of Stillman & Birn Alpha spiral bound sketchbook 9x12 inch that had Dr. Ph. Martin's teal colored ink on Colorfix clear pastel ground. So it was all teal the whole page.
Erengi, Cray Pas Speciailist, Mungyo Student oil pastels
Prismacolor Artstix to blend them and do details. Also a Faber Castell Polychromos colored pencil to do the oil derricks.
I had so much fun doing this piece. It's a culmination of my love of bold colors, a use of my plentiful supplies, and most of all, my love for doing buildings and structures and yet incorporating my newly acquired skills of doing waves.
I might have to tear this page out and frame it.
In real life, the colors are deeper and richer. Blue doesn't scan well.
