Rock Painter - new to WC

Hi everyone, I thought I would introduce myself(I also put an intro in the welcome forum)...my name is Terri and my primary art form is painting on rocks! I use acrylic and am self taught using the books by Lin Wellford (sp?)...that was 14 years ago...I am still going strong!

I have also started painting on canvas, art journaling and learning watercolor, plein air etc. This is only my 2nd post so I'll make another with a few photos!

Hi there! I am fairly new here to, but I paint on rocks, sceneries and such. And one of my favorites is slate. I use acrylics most of the time, I have used oils to though and they worked very nice.

Very Nice work Terri! I have done some rock paintings myself so I realize the challenges in it such as finding the right shape rock to fit the form you are going to paint or letting the rock shape tell you what it wants to be painted

Hi Teri, sorry to be late in replying...I did read your post back then but didn't have time to post. I too have done rock painting and have all of Lin Wellford's books. Yes Jennie, I find the rock shape will have a say on what it will be painted to look like.
I use cheap brushes and acrylic paints. There is also "Patio Paint" for this and it's a little more thicker...like plastic.

also do a Google search for more and don't forget YouTube has videos. I do have some rocks in my picturetrail site.
