Any tips for painting on leather chairs?

Hi y'all!

I've been asked to paint some simple designs on dining room chairs that look and feel like black leather. Does anyone know if Acrylics will stick, and do I need to treat the surface with anything before painting?

Need to know ASAP. Thanks!
Comments, critiques, and questions welcome, and thanks for looking!

Acrylics ought to do it, Ruth. unless you are working on bare tanned leather with spirit dyes, the paints I have used for leather are acrylic. These people have quality paints for leather:

but I would think you could use what you have.
