Use to denote nudity/mature subject matter Last session in April

Only one student showed up this week; so Jan and I drew along with Jim on one long pose.
Jim's drawing in pastel around 12 x 16
Jan's drawing in pencil 18 x 24
My drawing in charcoal 24 x 36
Just two more classes and we close down for the summer except for one "open" session a month. Geo

Re: Last session in April

those attendance numbers are a bit of a concern George but the drawings all show the productivity of sensitive observation and rendering of dedicated drawers

Thanks, Mac. Yes, that seems to be more of a problem this year. We are closing for the summer sooner than last year. I'm going to have to figure out some promotional activity before October to get more students. Any ideas would be appreciated. I have to be careful with reduced rates because of covering the cost of the model. The saving factor this spring has been the General Drawing on Thursday which doesn't use a model three fourths of the time.

Sandra, Carol, Arlene, Lauren thank you for the nice words. Jan and Jim thank you too.

Re: Last session in April

I am also sorry to hear of the low attendance ! MOst of the figure sessions here are kind of packed. When I was in NYC, they were Jam-packed - even in these quivering economic times. Perhaps population density ? Coastal-arty-conclaves ? I enjoyed the works all the same!

-Kevin

ps best of luck with the summer !

Re: Last session in April

Thanks Kevin. We will soldier on. I know we can come up with something to push our numbers up next fall. This summer we'll hold some "open" sessions, no instruction, mostly for Jan and me and usually Jim shows up at those. We HAVE to keep drawing from life. Geo

Hey, love the restrained skin tones of the pastel and the subtle rendering of the second and the rhythms and volumes of the third!
