Re: Spring in Qualicum Beach
Wow - not only because of the size but because of the painting! That size really suits your landscape!

Re: Spring in Qualicum Beach
Thanks James, Terry, I am trying to use different sizes when going out, it helps me to try and be fresh when in my familiar landscape, tomorrow I have a class of second and third graders for art and culture week, I hope their teacher will pose for us, although the teachers are having a job action!

Great work Dan!
I am very impressed with the size, that is a very challenging to do plein air (for me at least). The wind can be dangerous.
Love the colour choices you made.

Re: Spring in Qualicum Beach
Hi Dalibor, I always have a bungy and bag(for rocks) to weigh my easel down and I like to work at eye level so try to have my board secure, I have a funky old display easel that works for the larger sizes
Thanks lt scout, using pastel it becomes expensive, also takes longer, the reward is that it takes longer

Re: Spring in Qualicum Beach
I like your pastels very much. And would like to try it outdoor to. But here in the Faroe Island, it is always a risk fore a shower. Is it a problem if your board get a little wet ?

Re: Spring in Qualicum Beach
Hi Jim hows life and painting working for you?
Hello pskardenni, a real rain is difficult but yesterday I worked through light rain, I tilt my board forward and position it against the wind direction, when it is damp out the pastel goes on softer(fills the paper quicker) I try not to let my sticks get too wet when it is raining. The pastel sticks freeze though when it is freezing so I bring both my fingers and pastels in to thaw,
Also pleasurable work eichin, thanks
