Kalihiwai Storm Surge

This is a view of Kalihiwai Bay in the northern part of Kauai. This is the kind of weather we encountered on our recent trip and I thought it would make an interesting painting. That's the Kiauea Lighthouse on Kilauea Point in the background. I still need to do a bit of tweeking, especially to the greenery on the cliff. It needs to be much darker. But you get the idea.

16" x 40" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas.

Ron

Ron that light shinning through the clouds is just stunning. Often see those beams of light in the sunrise where I live. Very nice!

Hi Ron: This is an awesome painting. The light coming from the clouds is fantastic, as is the surging wave.

Marty - Thanks, I really wasn't sure how to execute the sky without making it look like a fantacy piece. But I think it worked out OK.

Vicki - Thanks so much. Really helpful to know you like the sky. I had some doubts.

Brian - I appreciate you comments. I struggled with rocks for years and now I feel more comfortable with them. Using a totally different technique.

Mary - Glad you liked it. Thanks heaps.
