bogervilia - digital corel
I did this in corel painter 12.. I want to post it for sale, but I am unsure if it is finished enough for my tastes. I haven't gotten any feedback on my recent digital abstracts and I hope to get some here. Let 'er rip as they say...

Thanks. It might look done though because it is so small here. Zoomed in two hundred percent of the original, it looks far from done.

Looking at it again and I think it is done. So hard to tell when you just finish it. I guess it's true that no art is ever finished, only abandoned. I think it was Picasso or someone famous who said that.

Re: bogervilia - digital corel
I am not a big fan of this digital art. I am not saying this is bad, it just doesn't appeal to me.

Thanks Katie.. It is my favorite color.
Thanks Sean.. What don't you like about it? What does appeal to you?

Would look good in a gallery wrap on canvas or simple black frame. Reminds me of Robert Crumb.

I think it is great Tim. What appeals to me most is the contrast between the taut and released bands and I enjoy exploring how they might be connected. There are a lot of interesting forms that might be interpreted many ways by different viewers.

Thanks poco and Rick. I have always liked crumb. Never really thought any of my work was like his though. But I will take the compliment gladly. Glad you enjoyed it.

timE;
The lines, shading and energy are very similar to Crumb. Similarities, yet very different artwork.

I like it, Tim. I do tend to enjoy your work with figures so I find myself trying to find one in this work. Nice to see you posting again.

Re: bogervilia - digital corel
Thanks Poco.. I guess subconsciously I am influenced by him, though I haven't looked at his work in a while.
Thanks Jon.. I don't think I will be doing figures for a while.. I want to build up my abstract work for prints for now. I am glad to be back.. I guess I have been a little preoccupied with life and trying to make some work.. I have a few projects that are big and taking up some time.. Sometimes it really overwhelms me with doing all this mostly on my own..
