Canna Lily

Finally I am able to post my very first thread with an image. I am a bit apprehensive. I painted this after one of macdragon's wonderful canna lily images. Thanks Marc!

Re: Canna Lily

No need to be apprehensive... it's beautiful and we don't bite. Welcome to the forum. I really like this. What size is it?

Re: Canna Lily

Thanks for all your kind complements. The size is 9 by 12 inches on 300lb Kilimanjaro paper. I used both DS and WN watercolors.

Re: Canna Lily

Toss that apprehension in the waste basket. This is a beautiful painting.

Love the loose, out of focus background with the crisply defined rendering of the lily...so nicely done. And the colors, of course, are great.

Re: Canna Lily

Welcome Raji to the Florals and Botanical Forum!! We are so glad to have you posting here!! Beautiful work!! Marc would be quite pleased with this painting of his Canna!

The reason we are asking for the size of your painting is that helps us to understand more about what we are viewing. We like to know that and the paper and paints used. You told us all three, thank you!

Looking forward to more of your work!!

Katherine

Re: Canna Lily

Welcome! What a beautiful canna painting to bring too.
You have a lovely touch with the medium so I look forward to seeing more

I do wish you could have joined us for the Plant Parade project a couple of months ago - we used a lot of Marc's images for that

Join us next month - it's always fun!

Re: Canna Lily

Thanks Marc! I am so happy you like it.

@Maureen : I was planning to participate for March Plant Parade but I was very slow to finish on time. I will try to participate in future plant parades.
