First day out in the last 10 days, any day out Plein air is a good day..Sonoma North Salmon Creek Beach, no winter storms anymore so waves were only 3 feet.

Thanks Libby, I haven't done much pa lately, working in the studio on larger works....yes there is a bit of knife, I'm just starting to incorporate it in, a subtle touch of it here and there I think gives some strength and variety, but I'm not a fan of all knife work. Schmid says to learn how to use it right put away your brushes for 3 weeks and just use a knife, but I haven't done that yet.

i like the depth as the landshapes disappear in the background.

thanks for noticing that, its why I did the study, I only got 20 min on this as the background simply disappeared in fog in that time.

I love this all around, the background makes the waves in the front stand out and I love your palette.

thanks Terry, I used a red ocher wash to tone this canvas which helped the greys stay more lively
