Lascaux Sirius System - Experiences?

Dear friends,
I am still firmly rooted in graphite but wanted to get my feet a little bit wet in colour as well and have stumbled across this Lascaux Sirius System. It sounds interesting on paper and on some of their youtube vids.

Does anyone of you out there have personal experience with this system (either in acrylics or watercolour) and would be willing to share their personal findings with me? Thanks in advance.

Cheers , Reinhard
How do you know you can't if you didn't try? And even if you failed the first time, try, try, try ..... one day you will succeed and be proud.

Hallo Reinhard, I don't have any firsthand experience with the paint and there's very little on the forums about them I'm afraid.

The colours provided are basically similar a type of palette that has been discussed here though - it includes CMY primaries coupled with a red and blue (violet-blue) so almost what's called a secondary palette (CMY + RGB), with black and white added. The mixing potential for the Sirius paints is going to be very broad indeed, although not quite as wide as with a full secondary palette.

But with either palette one of the main practical issues is with opacity, since most of the paints are either transparent or semitransparent. Depending on how you intend to use the paints this could be an advantage however.

Other than the embodied mixing system I have no idea of what the quality of the paint is like. Lascaux do have a good reputation though, for what that's worth.

Do you know if your colour is off in hue, value, chroma... or all three?
