Strength For The Journey

Cancer has again snuck into my life, metastasizing now to my stomach, small intestine, spine and left hip. Well, one good thing about being forced to slow down... I get some drawing done in my ol' recliner!

Through my health battles in the past many years, I have come to realize that certainly I am not the only one who faces hardships! Indeed, we all do. No, they aren't all physically life threatening, but sometimes we feel like at least mentally they could swallow us up.

This man represents all of us. He is in a wheelchair because he cannot do the things he would like to... not even sometimes, the very things that everyone else around him does with great ease. The harsh restrictions in the various situations we face can make us feel helpless and bring despair. Unless we lean on a greater Hope....

When I was first was diagnosed with breast cancer, a friend wished me "Strength for the Journey". I am convinced that we all need strength no matter where our journeys take us.

Enjoy the picture below. And, if you want to see it from start to finish, check out my demo on youtube: http://youtu.be/B_FcJscHoRk

Jyvonne...what a powerful impact this piece gives the viewer. It puts the pain we may suffer in perspective. I pray continual strength as you journey through this time.
