Re: Usual Suspects
Jim, I wasn't going to comment on this when I first saw it early this morning, because everything had already been said about this absolutely stunning piece of work. But upon seeing it again I feel I would be remiss in my responsibility to acknowledge good art when I see it if I didn't comment; so, great job, fine brush work, fantastic handling of the subject and an absolute study in how light creates form. Added this to my favorites.

Re: Usual Suspects
Thank you Jo, Chap, Carol and Robert.
Robert, You had me on this one. So I did a search and found that Keyser Söze is a fictional character in the 1995 film The Usual Suspects.

Re: Usual Suspects
This is a beauty, Jim! Wowser! I too am in awe on how you handled the plads and stripe shirts. And how you painted the lights and shadows on all the hats is just perfect. You should just move to Jackson Hole and set up shop.

Re: Usual Suspects
I am coming back, looking through all my favorites while trying to figure out how to finish a big piece, and I wanted to comment on this one.... very late.
I saw it on the Mountain Oyster website and think it is spectacular. I like relationships, and this has all the energy of the moment and in spite of the subdued subjects (vs leaping bulls and bucking broncs) I think it is one of the most exciting pieces I have seen in a while. Just love it.
