It's been well over a year since I touched my pencils for whatever reasons .. mostly lack of motivation I suppose. Anyway, I figured it was time for me to get some of the cobwebs out. I was going to do another Civil War portrait ... or perhaps a good photo I have of my grandfather from the 20s .. but I decided to do something with more texture to get back in the swing of things. See if anyone can guess what this is ...
11.5x14.5 graphite on Mellotex (a little charcoal here and there). Roughly 10 hours over 2 weeks. From a reference I found somewhere ....
Almost none of this is completed yet as per my usual. It's getting close in places but the texture still isn't quite right in most places - some of this will eventually be out of focus which is, for me, tricky to do.
