Re: Scavenger Hunt #264 - April 11 - 19
m50paul - thanks, oh, I like the brush. .... the hollowed out handle and the soft look of the collective bristle surface . the stiff sides and the worn oblique bristles toward the bottom.......really nice job.....you and that brush have spent some time together, yes? the back loop on the shoe is a soft contrast with the hard toe...the shadow on the heel says " this shoe is made for walking" You are totally on the mark about the Cuban restaurant.
Kirvin - yeah for more room!!! hope the move goes smooth........ Love that loose shoe. The dark touches keep it from floating off. The inside area is inviting and mysterious. nice job. I been thinking about buying some walnut ink. How do u like it?? Is it permanent and what brand is it?
Jo - thanks, yes I love scribbling , frees my mind from fear. absolutely LOVE the blind contour toilet!!!! The tree is your signature style.....you are patient with each leaf and meanwhile manage nicely to maintain a cohesiveness that is charming and gentle, Stacked things bring an interesting energy when viewing. Your digital sketches are VERY creative with texture and pull me around between reality and imagination in a pleasant way.
This is the last day of this hunt. I hope to get some more scribbling in........and a blind contour too before it's over.
Hope you all get to a little artsy something. Peace out.
9 - toilet
10 - street lamp

Jo- Thanks. Glad I made you smile. Love the tree detail and flower. Nice blind contour
Robin- Thanks. Great toilet. It looks so loose and graphic. Nice faucet and street lamp. I haven't played with the walnut ink very much. I think that I got it from Cheap Joe's art stuff. Says that it is lightfast on the side of the bottle. Here's a link. http://www.cheapjoes.com/art-supply/...ing-ink-oz.asp

Robin - Thanks. Wonderful job on the toilet! Good lines and hatching on the lamp and faucet too.
Stephanie - Nice combo of items. You have such a nice style of sketching with the cps. I really like how they look.
Paul - Thank you. Good soft look to the brush bristles. Nice walking shoe.
Jo - Thanks. Good corner sketch on the iPad...you are doing well with that. Love the stacks of cds and cups. Your blind contour came out good...or at least recognizable.
Here are a few more from last night.
17 - stack - pencil
18 - shoe - pencil
19 - truck (there is one in this sketch) - watercolors and ink

Re: Scavenger Hunt #264 - April 11 - 19
Kirvin - thanks.....about the ink.....lightfast is nice but can you apply water to the finished, dry drawing and get the ink to run? Sounds like it might not be waterproof if you thin it with water?
Bear Star - nice subdued tones ....lovely job on the broom and teacup. The broom looks like it's pulled up a chair and gonna have a cup of tea before chores! Always a good move.
Joan - nice stack. ...hey, it looks like you stole m50's shoe!!! Great proportion on that . good job on the truck.....nice depth in that watercolor
12 - broom - blind contour
13 - fly
14 teapot
15 hand tool
16 ceiling lamp
uni jetstream roller ball with gel grip ; > )

Robin, thanks for the list! Fun. I like your faucet hatching and well, the toilet, too. Your broom blind contour is amazing .. like an abstract seascape. The teapot in the corner is wonderful.
Joan, your real seascape, well dock area is cool. Nice work this Hunt. See ya.
BearStar, very cool arrangement and thanks for the cup for my collection. Different.
Hey, Kivrin!

Re: Scavenger Hunt #264 - April 11 - 19
Stephanie- Really nice still life
Joan- Like the watercolor. Great sketches
Hey, Jo!
Robin- Nice ones! I've just played a bit with the walnut ink. It stays where you put it. The ink does not run after it is dry even when it is thinned a lot. You can lift it up back to white with a little scrubbing on good paper. It was a bit watered down when I tried lifting, though. Hope that helps.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #264 - April 11 - 19
Robin: Cool lines again in the lamp and all. Thanks for hosting.
Stepphanie: Wonderful sketches, esp. the brick, the broom and the cup.
Jo: Hi. It is too bad that we could not make to N'Orleans this time, to be closer to you.
Paul: Cool toilet, nice teapot.
Joan: Perfect line for the sneaker and the harbor deck is so fantastic.
I'll visit Tone's relative in New Jersey tomorrow. I hope to get to sketch some NYC for SketchCrawl and hide myself in NY public libraries or museums. The kids and Tone will stay behind in Alabama. See you at the next Hunt.
