Anybody know Segundo Huertas?

I am looking for any information on an artist from Argentina named Segundo Huertas. We recently discovered that our favorite painting in our house is done by him. It needs to be cleaned, so if you have any advice about that issue, it would greatly appreciated.

Would you believe that we found this huge painting in the TRASH while my husband and I were in college? It has been well loved for the past 13 years, and just recently we found out it was a Huertas. Thanks for any help.

Hi!

Can you please post the painting? I want to see what some idiot threw out, and the treasure you have now.

Re: Anybody know Segundo Huertas?

His proper name is Segunda HUERTAS-AGUIAR, and he was born in 1923 in San Juan, Argentina. He moved to Chicago in 1965, and was active in New York in 1977. There are several galleries that carry his work. Eight of his paintings have sold at live auctions, but I can only see prices on four of them, ranging from $30 to $200. Of course, you can put any price you want on it. There is one on eBay right now for $3,200.

Re: Anybody know Segundo Huertas?

Segundo Huertas [Aguiar] was born in San Juan, Argentina, in 1923. While growing up on a farm, he spent most of his spare time painting landscapes from nature. He is known for his seascapes, landscapes and street scenes. "The paintings of Segundo Huertas are landscape and seascape tributes to the beauty in nature. He paints poetic settings inspired by the outdoors. The mood ranges from the peaceful solitude of a mountain paradise to the blazing fury of the heated desert horizon
