Re: Best Friends

I am glad you found this one and came back to it, as I love the boy's expression and the horse is looking fabulous too!

Re: Best Friends

Thanks Lynn!

Thank you Patrick! This is taking for ever. Graphite is harder to get the scratching effect than ink is.

Thanks BettyPage!

Thank you Cathy, Your comment about the horse means a lot coming from you.

Harry, you crack me up! Next you'll be telling me you put boloney in your shoes so you'll feel funny!

Thanks Leslie, I am eager to be done with it.

Thank you Misty!

After a week long bout with some virus I have returned to this. Here is the latest scan.

Re: Best Friends

Wow, Diana, this is fantastic! How do you keep from smearing the graphite? That is my main nemesis.

Re: Best Friends

Thanks Harry!

Thank you Sue! I am using water soluble graphite. After I apply the graphite I apply water lightly with a wet brush (not dripping wet). Then it doesn't seem to smear.

Thanks Lorna! It has been a change, something different, but I don see myself giving up ink for graphite any time soon.

Re: Best Friends

Wow Diane. What beautiful work. I see there are so many ways to approach this scratch art, from black to white, white to black and everything in between. Are you using water soluable black pencils and is this better then ink (sunni ink)?

Re: Best Friends

YAY
I do believe this is finished!!!!! I will leave it for awhile and see if it needs tweeking, but I won't be posting anymore updates.

I can't believe I started this on January 1, 2011. It's been more than 1 1/2 years.
