Nicely done Douglas...my crit would be a query as to whether the white line on both sides of the glass was there equally....light would have to hit both sides and the top equally, wouldn't it? Maybe it did...in which case I'll shut up If it didn't it might be enough to show some of the light, but not all...let the viewer fill it in!

Nice painting Douglas! However to me the light feels ambiguous. The shadow of the glass on the table says that the light is coming from the right, a little to the front. If you look at the grapes in a grayscale version it's difficult to make the overall like/dark patterns on them correlate with the shadow of the glass.

BTW, I think Deirdre made good observations about the glass.
