There's the background I came up with, wish it looked a little smoother. I measured it out, it's 16" X 12" (didn't feel like doing so much background) 36 hours

Re: Here's Lookin' at You Kid - IGUANA WIP
I really like your background. I know totally about hating backgrounds. I love how you have managed to get the lighting on the lizard and the background matching.
Don't worry too much about matching the head colour to the body colour. The water monitor lizards and iguanas I saw in Singapore and Malaysia varied down the body colour wise, the head always paler than the body.
Well done, I really like this.

Re: Here's Lookin' at You Kid - IGUANA WIP
Thanks so much for taking a look Kiwi Girl, Sspin and Marie UK. One problem I had is I was running out of my prismacolor white, which I put down first on the background in case I didn't like something and needed to take it off. Instead I used my Rembrant that came with the kit I bought and it's just not as smooth, and there started the goppiness. I guess I need to study up more on background. Thanks for your encouragement!!

This is outstanding Karen ! I really love it and your bg is great too.
(I wonder why people usually start with the subjet, it is easier to start with the bg, at least a few colors.)It is like eating the cream before the cake, who wants the cake after ? (this approximate quote is not mine, I read it somewhere, don't remember where, but I think it's quite true )

I put it off 'cause I know I can't do so well on it And I don't yet understand what people are talking about when they talk about how to do large spaces. I had it 95 percent done, when I finally figured out what "complimentary colors" are and how to use them.

Re: Here's Lookin' at You Kid - IGUANA WIP
WOW!! Karen your Iguana really pops off the screen and I don't think you need to change anything. The colour on its face looks fantastic and works with the rest of him as you have expertly put a little of that Turquoise through the body too.
The texture of his scales is fantastic, like others not my favourite species from the Animal Kingdom but I too would love to hang that on my wall .
I think your background works fine as it doesn't detract from the Iguana which as he is the main focus is great!
Definitely your Best piece that I have seen -thank you so much for sharing him with us .
