After Dark
Hi Folks, This is 47" x 47" acrylic on stucco, I used metallic bronze throughout and then Ult Blue with black to give it a dark sombre vibe. C & Cs always welcome.

Re: After Dark
I absoultely love this. The texturing and marbling of the colors are well done. If I had to nitpick I would say that next time I would like to see the raised hightlights created by the stucco represented eveningly throughout the composition. Here in this one the hightlights seem to be present in the middle to upper half of the composition. But thats just being nitpicky and I think this work is solid in its creation and execution.

Re: After Dark
Hi, thanks for your comments folks..with regards to the highlights being mainly present in the middle/upper part of the painting, that was intentional because I wanted to create the illusion of a horizon line. This could be a city under siege, or New Years festivities!

Re: After Dark
What made me think of an autumn forest by a lake, by night ?
Probably because I'm obsessed with trees and forests.
Its lovely, no doubt.

I thought the exact same thing. Very dramatic it is.

Re: After Dark
I see a burning city on the shore of a reflective lake or ocean, very nice how the darkness is used in this piece.
