Cadmium Tulips in Vase - Knife Painting

An acrylic knife painting of some tulips my wife was given recently as a gift. Cryla acrylics on canvas board, painted only with painting knives. 8x8 inches. Colours used were Raw umber, Titanium white, Ultramarine, Cadmium yellow light, Cadmium red, Bismuth yellow.

Let me know what you think!

Love the texture and colors. The vase looks like its hovering in front of a tree whose bark has been stripped off.

Dave, now that is what I really need in this grey, miserable area of Northern Europe. Love the energy, the colours, everything. Well done.

Thanks everyone, for your comments!
Cem - yes, the background was a bit unintentional, but that's what you get with knife painting, so I just try to go with it!

Fantastic Texture!! I love how you mixed the white highlights in the glass with the green stems in the water.

The petals are amazing.

Re: Cadmium Tulips in Vase - Knife Painting

Those tulip petals are amazing. The flowers and the vase are very well done. I also like the yellow in the stems.

My only comment is also the background. I understand it's the knife work but still why a knife? A sort of table and a soft background without alot of paint using a brush would have worked better. Something on the blue and violet side to complement the yellow and red.
